Wine tasting Le Marche region

Tastings and tours in vineyards to know the excellent wines of Le Marche region.

Cantine Aperte is an event organized by Movimento Turismo del Vino (Wine Tourism Movement), at the 22nd edition. A fix appointment for all passionate and wine lovers.

The Wine Tourism Movement is the most important non-profit association in Italy and Cantine Aperte is the most important event. Every year, at the end of May, hundreads of Italian wineries open the doors to curios and wine lovers to offer them a special tasting experience.

Le Marche produces a large variety of wines and a lot of them carrying the D.O.C. (Denominazione di Origine Controllata) label.

The main regional white wine is the Verdicchio made with 85% of the grape with the same name. Verdicchio di Jesi and the Verdicchio di Matelica DOC wines can be perfectly combined with local dishes, in particular with seafood.

Other white wines include the Bianchello del Metauro and Bianco dei Colli Maceratesi, respectevely produced near Metauro River and near Macerata. About the red wines, the main varieties are Rosso Conero and the Rosso Piceno. The Rosso Conero grapes grown on the Monte Conero taking advantage from the dry maritime climate, which contribute to giving their characteristic flavor.

From the North to the South of the region, during this week end (May, 24th-25th) around 60 cellars will partecipate at Cantine Aperte. Here you can find all the details of the wineries and a useful map if you want to create an itinerary and visit more than one winery.

Cantine aperte gives you the opportunity to partecipate at a special tasting experience, purchase directly the local wines and discover the process of wine production.

Don’t miss the event!
